After an incredible 38-year career in the office equipment industry, Brian Whyte has announced he is stepping away from Bryan S Ryan to focus on other business interests. Brian was appointed Managing Director in 2008, and his exceptional leadership has seen Bryan S Ryan grow from strength to strength during that period. He will continue to support the Board during the transition period.
As part of our succession planning, the Board is delighted to announce the appointment of Gerry Cheung and Jim Hand to their new positions of Chairman and Managing Director respectively.
Both have held various leadership roles since being appointed to the Board in 2008 and will be jointly responsible for driving all aspects of the company’s strategic, operational, and financial objectives moving forward. Gerry and Jim will take up their new roles effective 1st October 2024 and will be supported by current Board members, Trevor Atkins and Des Boyle.
In further news, we are also delighted to announce the appointment of Alan Morrissey to the Board. Alan joined the company in 2010 and has served in various sales and managerial roles during that time. Alan’s appointment as Sales Director will also come into effect on 1st October 2024.
Brian Whyte commented, “Bryan S Ryan continues to succeed and is one of the strongest and most respected companies in the industry. The new Board is very experienced and talented, and I look forward to seeing the company thrive in the years to come. Its true strength is its people, and I wish them every success in the future.”
In a joint statement from Gerry Cheung and Jim Hand, they acknowledged Brian Whyte’s unwavering commitment “On behalf of the company, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Brian for his outstanding leadership in every sense over the last 16 years. He has overseen a remarkable journey as we experienced unprecedented challenges both in the local and global economy. Brian leaves a rich legacy, and the company is ideally placed to take the next steps as we look to consolidate our position as a recognised market leader in the Office Equipment Sector whilst exploring new and exciting innovative opportunities in the Irish marketplace."
