Champions of the Circular Economy

We have collective long standing strategic partnerships with two of the industry’s largest Office Equipment Manufacturers, Kyocera and Canon. These relationships have afforded us some of the most advanced and robust sustainable goals when providing our clients with new equipment.

· A range of Carbon Neutral devices from production all the way through to client fulfilment.

· A range of global accreditations including the Blue Angel EcoLabel and EPEAT Gold status (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool).

· A range of products supplied in recycled/pulp cardboard packaging.

· The ability to re-use empty toner cartridges for waste toner collection, minimising additional consumables.

· A focus on long-life, sustainable components and long-lasting consumables reducing the frequency of shipping replacement parts or putting a service engineer on the road.

· Stand-by power used during Sleep Mode is kept below 0.5W without compromising user productivity.

· Offering Solid State Drives SSDs which use about half of the power of conventional HDDs.

· Motion Sensor Detection - Kyocera devices automatically wake and power-up when a user approaches.

· Energy saving toner Kyocera toner fuses on the page at 30°C, reducing power consumption when printing by up to 50%.

· Canon pursues the implementation of automated assembly lines and robotics to ensure reliable production of high-quality products at low cost. The aim is to achieve fully automated production that requires zero human intervention.

· Lifecycle Assessment Methodology has been introduced in the product development stage to help reduce environmental impacts throughout the product lifecycle.

· When delivering toner, we use a recyclable material which uses air pressure to improve cushioning, reducing packaging volume by 30% and carbon emissions during transportation by 20%.

· We use recycled materials within our packaging, including the use of cardboard rather than wooden pallets and the use of pulp moulds to package smaller products rather than organically derived polystyrene foam.

· Today’s imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX model produces 25% less CO2 during use compared to the previous models.

What happens when your device gets traded in?

We collect and refurbish devices for re-sale in our circular economy either directly or indirectly under our Used Electrical, Electronic, Equipment Programme (UEEE).

Hear from our client

Weltec Engineering (with offices in Waterford, Cork, Dublin and the UK) has been a client of Bryan S Ryan’s for over ten years. During this time, we have worked with their account manager in sourcing pre-loved devices for short and long-term contracts on our different sites. We are fully supportive of the Circular Economy and are delighted to be supporting our own ESG commitments and Bryan S Ryan’s ability to provide a range of non-end of life devices.”

Testimonial

We have furthered underpinned our commitment to extending the life cycle of pre-loved products in our Circular Economy Programme by partnering with Trade Copiers UK for over 20 years. This relationship has a specific focus on adhering to ISO27001 security standards, with all devices going through a Data wiping process.

“Trade Copiers Ltd are delighted to have partnered with Bryan S Ryan for over two decades. As part of our partnership agreement, we collect all devices that are not end of life or for full refurbishment and bring them to our facilities to be processed and exported globally, giving the devices a second lease of life, contributing to the circular economy.

Processing at our facility includes a robust data security disposal process where the hard drives are wiped to ISO27001 protocols. This is certified for Bryan S Ryan and their clients. We operate to the most stringent environmental policies with ISO14001:2015 as our standard. We are very proud to say that we were one of the first companies in our sector to have gained this certification.”

And finally, what about devices that are no longer fit for purpose?

We collect and recycle all devices through our Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment programme (WEEE). We currently have partnership programmes with Kavanaghs and Envirogreen.

Once again it is important that we have a credible sustainability story, one that we can both articulate and provide the evidence to support.
